Choosing the right jacket at Stoked Boardshop

Jackets are worn pretty much all year round. Whatever you're looking for, here at Stoked we provide you with the right jacket all year round. We have all types of jackets, in all smells, colors and sizes.

We are happy to help you choose the right jacket. We already distinguish for you between winter and summer coats. A summer coat should above all be wind and waterproof . Therefore, in spring and summer we more often choose a coach jacket or a lighter jacket.

During the colder seasons, you want to be better protected from the natural elements and you should go for a quilted jacket. These are a bit thicker and generally offer even more waterproofing and windproofing.

Not only the season, but also your activity plays a role in choosing a jacket. For example, if you ride your bike to work, be sure to choose a windproof jacket or a windstopper with a breathable fabric.

So always keep in mind the most important properties of your jacket, being waterproofness and breathability.

Our team has been around for a long time in the boarding world, and as snowboarders we have spent several winter seasons in the mountains. Therefore, we know what good equipment is and what to look out for.While snowboarding, you better be well protected from the cold and snow. Quality jackets and their properties

At Stoked you can only find high quality jackets. Therefore, we take several features and properties into account before we put them in the store.

  • Waterproofness: This is measured by the term "water column." This indicates how waterproof your jacket is expressed in millimeters. This is tested by releasing a certain water pressure on a jacket of, say, 5 meters. So a jacket that does not yet let any water through under this pressure has 5K waterproofness. Here at Stoked Boardshop, 5K is the minimum standard for winter coats/snowboard jackets. Of course, we have many jackets that are more towards 8K, 10K and 15K. So these are even more resistant to water and bad weather conditions and thus keep you dry longer.
  • Breathability: When you're active, you're going to sweat. Therefore, your clothing's function is to wick away that sweat in some way. This is done through the breathability of your jacket. This indicates how many grams of sweat your jacket can ventilate in 24 hours. So a jacket with breathability 5K can shed 5 liters of sweat. This is already a great score but of course, again, the more intense your activity, the higher this score should be.
  • Additional features: Over the years, different brands built in many more conveniences. Many of the quality jackets and snowboard jackets we offer come with features like a powder skirt, ventilation system, elevator pass pocket and goggle pocket.
