Independent trucks or Indy's are the first, original skateboard trucks. At Stoked Boardshop you can always buy these rock solid classics online or in our shops.

Skateboard trucks in the 70's were way too fragile and stiff for Richard Novak, Jay Shiurman, Fausto Vitello and Eric Swenson. In 1978 in Santa Cruz they invented the first Independent skateboard trucks. They would go on to launch and shape the entire industry, with different brands, teams and magazines. The four of them launched a.o. Creature, Santa Cruz, Mob Grip and the legendary magazine Thrasher.

The only metal foundry that was founded especially for skateboarding gear, Ermico Enterprises in San Francisco, makes the original Independent Trucks since then. The current team includes OG's like Tony Hawk, Eric Koston, Chris Haslam and Lance Mountain. Also younger rippers like Leo Romero and Grant Taylor have signature shafts at Independent Trucks.
