The Lib Tech Skunk Ape is the legendary big guy board - built for big guys with big boots and big plans. Born from years of testing in the experiMENTAL Division, this is a powerful all-mountain directional twin with a floaty nose, wide waist and solid HP construction. Whether tacking rails, carving groomers or pulling powder lines, this unicorn among boards delivers performance, grip and stability without toe drag. The floaty nose provides relaxed buoyancy, while the short tail and wide Stance ensure control and power under any landing. No compromises, no shortcuts - just pure shred power for bigger riders.
Shape
Directional Twin - This shape combines features of both a directional and twin board. It has a symmetrical shape (twin) in terms of the nose and tail around the bindings, which provides balance for freestyle moves such as spins or switch riding. However, outside the bindings, the nose may be slightly longer than the tail, or the flex may differ from front to back, making the board more suitable for all-mountain riding in one direction. This makes the board versatile, performance-oriented in different snow conditions and still suitable for park riding.
Rocker Type
Hybrid C2X Directional-This hybrid profile provides extra firm pressure on nose and tail for power, pop and precision. This is combined with medium pressure between your feet for carving, edge grip on ice and float in powder.
Flex rating
7/10 - With a stiff snowboard like this one, you are guaranteed excellent response and support, allowing you to ride confidently and powerfully on the slopes. If you are an experienced and powerful snowboarder, a hard flex is just what you need for optimal performance.
Core
Horsepower (HP) Construction. - A lighter, smoother blend of 60% aspen and 40% paulownia. Finished with basalt alloy.
Base
Sintered Knife Cut Base - The base was made with a double layer of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Optimized wax retention and strength. Regular waxing and professional repairs are required.
Extra
Magne-Traction® – with Magne-Traction® transform your ice cream is powder. This technology has 7 stategically placed edge serrations. This gives you fantastic control and edge protection.
Binding compatibility
2x4 - This system is the most common pattern for snowboards today. Two rows of inserts are provided that are 2 inches apart. This allows for different stand widths. To attach your snowboard binding, you need four screws in the 2x4 system.
Terrain
All-Mountain|Freeride - These snowboards are perfect for all-mountain exploration and offer versatility and floatation in powdery conditions. If you are looking for a snowboard that performs well in fresh snow, the Lib Tech Orca snowboard is an excellent choice.
