Description

The Lib Tech Orca II Snowboard is the latest evolution of Travis Rice’s iconic Orca and combines excellent powder performance with surprising power on the slopes. Lib Tech has equipped the Orca II with an updated Dream Shape featuring a long, floaty nose, a powerful Whale Tail, and a short 7 m sidecut. The board retains its volume-shifted design, allowing you to ride it 3 to 6 cm shorter than a traditional snowboard. Add to that a firm 7/10 flex, the new Makah Hemlock wood core, and the versatile hybrid profile, and you get a directional freeride machine that isn’t just for powder days. Lib Tech aptly describes it as a freeride powder ripper that also doubles as a resort daily driver.

Flex

7/10—with a stiff snowboard like this, you’re guaranteed excellent response and support, allowing you to ride the slopes with confidence and power. If you’re an experienced and powerful snowboarder, a stiff flex is exactly what you need for optimal performance.

Shape

Directional—with this shape, the bindings are positioned slightly further back, giving the snowboard a longer nose. This makes the snowboard ideal for freeride and all-mountain riding, providing you with more float in powder snow.

Rocker Type

Hybrid—Looking for a snowboard that’s suitable for both the park and the slopes? Then consider a hybrid rocker snowboard. This type of snowboard combines the advantages of both camber and rocker, offering a perfect balance between grip and flexibility. The rocker in the nose and tail provides greater maneuverability and forgiveness during tricks and jumps, while the camber underfoot ensures stability and pop.

Core

Makah Hemlock Wood Core—For the Orca II, Lib Tech introduces a new Makah Hemlock Wood Core. According to Lib Tech, this hemlock comes from wood sustainably harvested by the Makah Tribe, who live in the northwestern corner of the United States, relatively close to the Mervin Manufacturing plant. Lib Tech describes the new core as strong and poppy.

Base

Sintered Knife Cut Base – the base is made with a double layer of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Optimized wax retention and strength. Regular waxing and professional repairs are required.

Binding Compatibility

 2x4

Rider Level

Advanced|Expert – Snowboards for advanced and expert riders are designed for the most experienced snowboarders seeking maximum performance and control on the slopes. These snowboards often feature reinforcements made of metal, carbon, and other materials for optimal stiffness, strength, and precision. They are ideal for snowboarders seeking maximum speed, precision, and control when carving, jumping, and riding on extremely steep slopes and in challenging conditions.

Terrain

All-Mountain | Freeride—these snowboards are perfect for exploring the entire mountain and offer versatility and float in powdery conditions. If you’re looking for a snowboard that performs well in fresh snow, the BRAND + NAME BOARD snowboard is an excellent choice.
