Description

The Lib Tech Libstick 88 2027 Skis are versatile all-mountain women’s skis for skiers who love to explore all day long. From perfectly groomed runs to moguls and playful runs through the trees: these skis are right at home on a variety of terrains. The combination of a lightweight Hemlock and Aspen wood core, a medium flex, and the renowned Magne-Traction® edges delivers an accessible yet responsive ride. With a waist width of 88 mm, you can switch edges smoothly, while the early rise at the tip and tail offers extra maneuverability when snow conditions aren’t perfect. Ideal for skiers who mainly ski on the piste but like to take a different line every now and then.

Terrain: All-Mountain & Piste

The Libstick 88 is designed for skiers who primarily ski on groomed runs but don’t want to limit themselves to perfectly smooth snow. The 88 mm waist width ensures quick edge changes and sufficient support when skiing through softer or rutted snow. Its agile character also comes in handy on moguls and between trees. For deep powder, however, a wider freeride ski offers more float.

Profile: Freestyle/Freeride Early Rise

The Freestyle/Freeride profile combines a directional rocker with an early-rise tip and tail and a longer contact zone underfoot. This makes it easy to initiate turns and keeps the ski feeling supple in varying snow conditions. The longer effective edge provides control on hard-packed slopes, while the early rise helps you navigate through snowdrifts and uneven terrain more easily.

Shape & Sidecut: Directional All-Mountain

The Libstick 88’s directional shape is designed for controlled and versatile skiing. With a waist width of 88 mm and a turning radius of 15.5 meters, the ski responds quickly to steering inputs and is easy to maneuver through short to medium-length turns. At a length of 160 cm, it has dimensions of 118-88-109 mm. The women’s-specific, slightly forward-shifted binding position supports a natural, balanced stance on the ski.

Flex & Construction

The Libstick 88 has a medium flex that ranges from 5/10 to 6/10, depending on the length. The Hot Action Hemlock x Aspen Eco Light Construction combines lightweight Aspen with sturdy Makah Hemlock wood. This provides a lively ride with ample support when you apply a bit more pressure to the edges. Thin biaxial and triaxial fiberglass layers reinforce the construction, while the sintered UHMW sidewalls and base contribute to durability and excellent glide performance.

Level: Intermediate to Advanced

This ski is particularly well-suited for intermediate to advanced skiers who want to further develop their technique. The medium flex makes it relatively forgiving, while the directional shape and Magne-Traction® provide enough grip to carve with confidence on harder slopes. Even sportier skiers looking for a lighter, less demanding all-mountain ski will appreciate its accessible character.

Technologies: Hemlock x Aspen & Magne-Traction®

The Hot Action Hemlock x Aspen Eco Light Construction combines two types of wood for a good balance between weight, stiffness, and responsiveness. This keeps the ski easy to control without feeling flimsy.

Magne-Traction® uses wavy steel edges with extra contact points that provide more grip on hard and icy snow. This offers extra confidence, especially during early-morning runs or on groomed sections.

The Bio Beans Top is a plant-based topsheet that prevents snow from sticking as easily and contributes to a smooth riding experience.

Which ski length should you choose?

The Libstick 88 is available in 153, 160, and 167 cm. A shorter length makes the ski easier to maneuver in tight turns, moguls, and narrower passages. A longer length offers more stability at higher speeds and during sporty descents. Thanks to the early rise at the tip and tail, the ski feels agile. Choose your length based on your build, weight, skill level, and favorite riding style.

Bindings & Setup

The Lib Tech Libstick 88 2027 is delivered as a flat ski, without an integrated binding system or included bindings. This means you can choose a suitable ski binding separately that matches your ski boots and riding style. The women’s-specific, slightly forward-mounted mounting position is part of the design. Have the bindings professionally mounted and adjusted, paying attention to the recommended mounting position and compatibility with your ski boots.

Stoked Expert Advice
