The Rome Katana AW AsymWrap FASE® Team 2027 Snowboard Binding combines the Katana’s legendary adjustability and board feel with the fast FASE® Fast Entry System. The AsymWrap construction gives the binding a surfy and natural feel, while the OmniFlex Ankle Strap provides the necessary responsiveness and control. Flex

6/10 - The Rome Katana AW AssymWrap FASE® Team 2027 snowboard binding features a medium flex for an all-around snowboarding experience. Perfect for riders who love speed on and off-piste, as well as for freestylers tackling jumps, rails, and boxes in the snowpark. The medium flex offers direct power transfer and optimal control.

Baseplate

G Baseplate - The Katana AW FASE® uses Rome’s G Baseplate with 15% fiberglass. Rome describes this construction as medium flex, giving the baseplate sufficient responsiveness without feeling excessively stiff.

On top of that is the AsymWrap platform. Instead of a stiffer FullWrap construction, AsymWrap uses three connection points between the heel cup and the baseplate. This allows the binding to move more naturally with the snowboard. You get more board feel and a surfy character, while still maintaining sufficient edge-to-edge response when you apply pressure to your edges.

Highback

G Highback—made of 15% fiberglass and 85% nylon. This material combination gives the highback a nice balance between support, flexibility, and responsiveness.

When you apply pressure toward your heelside edge, the highback provides enough support to quickly transfer that input to your snowboard. At the same time, there’s still enough freedom of movement to make the binding feel comfortable and less aggressive than an extremely stiff freeride binding.

Together with the AsymWrap baseplate, the G Highback contributes to the Katana’s signature character: power exactly when you need it, but with enough freedom to let your snowboard move naturally.

Straps

Omniflex Ankle Strap—the OmniFlex ankle straps are constructed from a single piece of flexible material without hard cores, ensuring minimal pressure points, low weight, and maximum freedom of movement during freestyle riding.

FASE® Fast Entry System

FASE® gives the Katana its quick entry without sacrificing the familiar feel of straps. The system is designed to make getting in and out faster and easier, while the binding retains its traditional strap-based riding feel.

This makes the Katana AW FASE® an attractive option for snowboarders who want the convenience of a fast-entry system but don’t want to switch to a completely different type of binding.
