The North Face Descendit Snowboard Pants Stone Slab are technical, lightly insulated snowboard pants designed for riders who want comfort and protection without having to settle for heavy winter pants. The combination of waterproof DryVent™ 2L technology, fully taped seams, and 40 g of Heatseeker™ insulation makes the Descendit particularly well-suited for long days on the slopes. The clean Stone Slab colorway keeps the look understated, while reinforced lower legs and integrated snow cuffs ensure they’re fully equipped for snowboarding.
Fit
Regular Fit—The regular fit is the most common. It’s comfortable and still offers some room to wear protective gear under your pants.
Waterproofing
52,700 mm - This water column rating is perfect for snowboarders who want to spend hours out on the slopes. With this level of waterproofing, you won’t have to worry about rain or snow.
Breathability
700–750 g/m²/24h - This breathability is certainly sufficient for low-intensity activities. Especially if you just want to ride leisurely on the slopes or in the park and occasionally spend some time off-piste.
Insulation
40 g Heatseeker™ - The North Face uses 40 g of Heatseeker™ synthetic insulation, 70% of which consists of post-consumer recycled polyester. Heatseeker™ uses hollow fibers to trap heat without making the pants overly thick or bulky. At 40 g, this is considered light insulation. The Descendit is therefore not a heavily lined snow pant, but it clearly provides more warmth than uninsulated shell pants.
Material
Recycled DryVent™ 2L – The main fabric consists of 133 g/m² DryVent™ 2L made from 100% recycled polyester. On top of that is a PFC-free DWR finish for extra protection against moisture on the outside. Around the lower legs, The North Face uses a much heavier 262 g/m² fabric made of 100% recycled nylon. These so-called kick patches are located in areas where snowboard pants take a lot of wear and tear from boots, bindings, board edges, and daily use. The sturdier construction helps extend the pants’ lifespan.
